Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I order a cake?

For birthday or occasion cakes, we recommend 2 weeks, and for weddings we recommend 3-6 months in advance. Dependent on availability we may be able to take orders after this notice period, but this is not guaranteed. Please call the store on 098368806 or email to check our availability, and note that orders are only confirmed once a deposit is made.

What is fondant icing?

Fondant icing is an edible icing used to decorate or sculpt cakes. It is made from sugar, water, gelatin, and glycerol.

What size cake do I need?

Cake size is dependent on how many servings you require, whether this be dessert sized portions or to supplement as coffee sized portions. Please refer to our sizing chart or contact us for our recommendation. Things to consider are the time the cake will be served (i.e after dinner or afternoon tea) and is the cake the sole dessert.

How do I store my cake?

If your cake incorporates any form of fondant, it is best left in it’s box in a cool, dark area with plenty of air flow, not in the fridge. If you have a butter creamed cake, feel free to store this in the fridge but allow time for the cake to come to room temperature once removed.

Do you make allergy free cakes?

We offer an egg and dairy free cake, as well as a separate gluten free recipe.

What are your opening hours?


We are open 9.30am-5pm Monday to Friday, 10am-2pm Saturday and closed on Sundays.

Can my cake travel overseas?

Our cakes can travel overseas; we can recommend a design suitable for travel, and your cakes will be securely packaged with a customs packing slip attached. Please note, we are not responsible for the safety of the cake once it leaves the store.

Do you deliver?

We do offer our own delivery service. Please email us with the location you need the cake delivered to for a quote.
