As we’re entering the warmer weather, we thought it would be a great time to ask what our staff’s top favourite cakes of Winter were! Angela, Caylie, Hannah and Sondra have each picked their favourite design from the last few months, which gives insight to the large variety of design styles that Sweet Bites Cakes delivers to clients each week. CAYLIE’S FAVOURITE
I love this cake! The customer came to us with the Mermaid Pusheen theme, which is one we have never had before, and we really got to have fun with the design. The pastel colour palette is so sweet, and being able to create a design as we saw fit is always an exciting task.
ANGELA’S FAVOURITE
With this cake, the couple really gave us total creative freedom, with the only noted inspiration to be the bridal lace from the dress. Simplistic but elegant, with beautiful flowers from Widly, Madly, Deeply, which really lift this design to a new level!
HANNAH’S FAVOURITE
I think realistic 3D cakes are amazing, and this one is no different! I’ve never seen a lettuce cake before, but all of the little details really make this for me; the water droplets, the ladybird and light dusting of cocoa powder for dirt!
SONDRA’S FAVOURITE
Who doesn’t love fried chicken? The chicken came out so realistic, you can almost hear the crunch! The bucket is made entirely from cake, the fries from fondant and the drumsticks from cake pop. I can’t wait for the next!
